General Job Description:
While working within manufacturing, laboratory, and office settings, this position is responsible for the timely completion of ink-jet prints, transparent positives, graphic files, printer maintenance, supply ordering, housekeeping, and other tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Attend work regularly and on time
- Conduct all activities in a safe manner
- Evaluate safety aspects of all work areas and operations
- Performs tasks that produce hazardous waste. Hazardous waste is collected and placed in appropriate drums and waste amount is reported to Safety Officer monthly (if applicable).
- Support the customer while working independently or on a team
- Understand customer requirements, prioritize work, deliver products in a timely manner
- Operate computer (PC) with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Ergo Soft PosterPrint RIP, EFI Fiery, and XF RIP.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot large format ink-jet printers and scanner.
- Perform minute color corrections of graphics using Adobe Photoshop Layer Masks
- Create/crop precise large format monochrome vector graphics using Adobe Illustrator
- Organize and maintain master samples, graphic files, and etcetera’s
- Orders artwork and maintain inventories of consumables such as ink-jet inks, wipers, and etcetera’s
- Timely preparation of various decorative product sales samples
- Document all work in a timely and thorough manner
- Participation in Isovolta’s ISO 9001/AS9100 based QMS.
- Regular housekeeping
- Document material usage, contributing to accurate inventory management
- Support your customers (management, peers, sales staff, production staff, and outside customers) in meeting their operating requirements
- Performs printer “Head Tests”, identifies plugs and deflections
- Performs automatic head cleaning functions (Head Clean, Nozzle Wash & Custody Wash etc.) includes cleaning and changing wipers
- Identifies the need to remove printer heads, change circuit boards, cables & other electronics and notifies the T & D Manager for technical assistance
- Removes, repairs and re-installs ink pump and print-head dampers
- Builds full size and lab size screens
- Occasionally assist in screen printing/coating functions (troubleshooting)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good interpersonal communication, customer service, and time management skills essential.
- Ability to read, write and understand English required.
- Must demonstrate general math, chemical, mechanical, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and various applications (MS Office & SAP) for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and graphics applications including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, ErgoSoft PosterPrint RIP, EFI Fiery XF RIP.
- Physical ability to hear, to see, to engage in repetitive motion of hands and wrists, some lateral movement of body, some bending, twisting and climbing stairs, standing/walking 94% and sitting 6% of the working day.
- Frequently lift up to 60 pounds independently.
