Technology & Development (T&D) Manager - Harrisburg, OR, USA
General Job Description:
This position will lead the Technology and Development department with duties including team management, technology development, product requalification, customer support, new product development, safety oversite of laboratories, and site environmental compliance.
Essential Tasks/Functions:
- Safety oversight of T&D team, laboratories and technical / product developments. To include correct use of PPE, SDS’s and T&D staff training in chemical handling and storage.
- Hiring, reviews, attendance, discipline and training of all T&D staff.
- Document Control for Design and Development process, Engineering Requests, T&D Operating Procedures, T&D Specifications, EO’s, DEO’s and associated document requirements.
- Reporting functions to include Management Review Board, Board meetings, A&T R&D Meetings, OnePoint and individual project meetings.
- Budgetary support as required by CEO and Finance Manager.
- Collaboration of technical strategic vision for Isovolta Inc Harrisburg. Investment proposals for new equipment and plant upgrades.
- Communicate risk-based thinking to all levels of the T&D Dept.
- Active participation in the ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems. NCR management of T&D processes. Support for customer enquiries and troubleshooting, including visits to customers and suppliers.
- Attendance at company trade shows, industry technology events and regulatory authority forums. Oversight of all T&D product development programs.
- Management of ER database and associated documents.
- Management of T&D storage and housekeeping within the plant.
- Liaison with R&D Managers Neudorf / Kassel.
- Oversee T&D Forms Log and Master Controlled Documents List, Controlled Documents, EOs, Training Acknowledgements, DCNs etc.
- Internal dept. support for Operations, QA, Sales, Finance and HR.
- Regulatory Reporting for Air Contaminant Discharge Permit.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good interpersonal communication, customer service, and time management skills
- Excellent math, writing, and reasoning skills
- Good business acumen
- 8+ years of directly related experience
- Experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience with laminates / composites / thermoplastics a plus.
- Demonstrated skills of successfully leading, motivating, engaging employees
- Ability to work with peers, superiors, and customers in a professional manner
- Minimum of a Degree in Engineering / Materials Science. Masters / PhD preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English
